The night the painting became part of the foundation’s story.

In 2010, Fundación Leo Messi celebrated a solidarity gala in Buenos Aires that brought together sport, culture, and social commitment. During the event, Liniers created the large-format artwork live, with Leo Messi joining the gesture by adding his own brushstrokes to the canvas.

The evening helped amplify the foundation’s mission for children and adolescents, connecting the painting to a broader philanthropic effort focused on health, education, inclusion, and opportunity.

Universidad de Belgrano

For many years, Universidad de Belgrano (UB) has been a special ally of Fundación Leo Messi (FLM): it was the university that hosted FLM’s first offices in Buenos Aires, from which hundreds of social initiatives were projected across the region.

UB has also been the institution that, with great care and dedication, has safeguarded the work by renowned illustrator and cartoonist Liniers intervened by Lionel Messi himself, preserving this unique milestone of art and solidarity.
